Three full days of classic motorsport action and historic racing with appearances from motoring legends. It doesn't matter if you enjoy historic motorsport from the driver's seat or the armchair, Race Retro has something for every enthusiast with motorsport, classic car and bike enthusiasts, event organisers, engineering and restoration companies on hand as well as hundreds of trade stands selling parts, tools, memorabilia, and much more.

A favourite with many DSG members for years now and I can see why, very well run and supported show with lots to see and normally a good autojumble. For the past 2 years we've had a joint stand with the VVOC and this makes for a good mix of Vauxhalls and Bedfords. Camping on the club stand is free of charge but you must be cleared away by 9 am, or you can book directly in to the campsite on 01264 352048. Critically important AGM for the DSG; decisions will be taken on the Spares Scheme and the future direction of the club, and the committee elected for next year. Your opinions are needed; get there if you can, but if you can’t make it, call or write and let us know your thoughts.

A re-run of the successful Duxford meet last year, this time run jointly with the FBHVC’s ‘Drive It’ day. Discount entry to the IWM, exclusive parking and access, and a good mix of Vauxhalls – what more could you want?!

The VBOA’s annual international shindig, though with costs high and money tight this year it’s unknown whether any DSGers will be going; for more details and entry forms, see the VBOA website.

The long awaited revival of motorsport at (what remains of) the historic Crystal Palace circuit, featuring a speed event, static displays, trade stands, a Wall of Death, alternative fuel vehicles, and much more. Unique motorsport show set in the grounds of Chatsworth House. The show incorporates part of the former RAC Rally stage and turns it into a spectator-based event complete with all the thrills of special stage rallying, without the marathon walk through the woods! There is no better place in the UK to enjoy the rallying experience with such perfect views of the action. Watch historic and World Rally Cars take on Chatsworth's famous set pieces of rallying; the jump and the water splash.

We hope to have a club stand there again this year; either way, there should be a good turnout of DSG members and cars at this popular show. For more, take a look at the forum discussion.

The early Tatton show, not as big as the August one; we normally have a shared stand with the VVOC here.

Courtesy of Andy, we’re invited to Brize Norton’s annual shindig for staff, family and friends. As well as an air show and static demos, there’s a small classic car display which Andy hopes we can add a few cars to. Strictly club members only, and all names must be given in advance for gate passes.

We've again got reduced price entries and track passes for this popular action day at the south-west circuit; tickets strictly first come, first served for DSG members from Steve Kirby, on the usual number.

Described as a unique blend of club show and all-out track action, the event blends genuine classic cars with modern sportscars, so expect to see anything from the Austin A35 to the latest sportscars. On the circuit, sessions will be split between genuine classic cars, modern classics and older and new sportscars. At lunchtime, free for all Club members is the Giant Classic Cruise. To appeal to those drivers who have not been on the circuit in the past there will be two New-to-Track sessions for those that are happy to drive at a more moderate speed.

No details as we go to press, but there’s momentum building behind this already and we had a good turnout last year; more in the next DSN, hopefully.

The 19th Luton Festival of Transport; always a good day out, with over 1200 vehicles on display last year and a pretty good autojumble as well. Club stand, if interested please let me know by end of April; that’s the last date for entry and also we get in the programme and get plaques – Ian Denham.

Expect a good turnout from the home counties DSGers with a heavily HC / HPF bias from the local guys.

The world's largest one-day Classic car show is established as something of an institution amongst enthusiasts from all over the world. Where else would you find more than 3,000 classics in one place! It is a superb celebration of this wonderful way of life - a true flavour of a by gone age - and provides one of the best opportunities available to soak up Bromley's unique atmosphere of friendly club stands, displays and fellow enthusiasts.

This year's Pageant is building on previous years and promises to be better than ever with a number of added attractions, making this a great day out. There is so much more with a huge Cars for Sale area, Fun Fair, Steam Engines, Trucks, Motorcycles, Modified Cars, the list goes on AND not forgetting one of the biggest classic vehicle trade shows in the UK with hundreds of Autojumble stands, and trade stands including the latest products, parts, services and new vehicles on display.

I have a club plot for ten of our cars to display, at £5 for a car, driver and passenger; not bad for a full day, so please could anyone contact me if they want to come and display their cars. Last year was a perfect day weatherwise and very busy, and getting in and out of the event is much improved – Brian Wray.

Large and popular Northern Irish show, with proceeds going to local charities. All cars built before 1991 are eligible, with free entry for the driver and passenger. Call Drew for more details.

We're again invited to the AVO guys' National, which has proved a popular show, particularly with the Chevette guys, over the last few years. No details available yet; keep an eye on the websites, our forum or give Phil Moorcroft a bell for further information.

All makes and models of vehicles first registered on or before 31st December 1988 including cars, commercials, motorcycles, scooters, tractors, stationary engines and steam engines.

Classic cars, historic racing from saloons to Formula Junior, and now the main annual meet of the revitalised Scottish DSG, this event is going from strength to strength. Not a major club event, but there's usually a good handful of DSGers who make it to the popular Sussex show, and always the promise that Baby Bertha migh one year put in an appearance...

International meet of the Opel Kadett C Club of Holland, with invitations to all GM family cars and particularly the DSG. Events, motorsport, autojumble, camping and more; for more details, call Kirsten.

The major Vauxhall, Bedford and Opel event of the year, the annual VBOA National Rally, will take place on Saturday July 11th and Sunday July 12th 2009. Members of the 31 UK owner's clubs affiliated to the VBOA will be displaying over 2000 Vauxhalls, Bedfords and Opels.

Sunday morning will see arena displays by participating clubs and in the afternoon the crowning of the Best Car in Show, while a massive autojumble will be open all weekend to supply parts, accessories and memorabilia. Special camping rates are available to members of VBOA affiliated clubs - contact the club for further details.

Third year for this north-west event that promises to build the same way that the Festival of Speed has. We hope to have our own stand here this year, thanks to Earl - for more details, entry form etc. take a look at the forum discussion.

Another Home Counties favourite, now in its 27th year, this huge show promises cars, trucks, bikes, trade stands, autojumble, arts and crafts and more, all in aid of charity. Entries are a very reasonable £5 each - call Ian Denham to book

Long established, informal evening meet at the George, with anything from bikes and Austin Sevens to huge commercial vehicles - maybe a chance for us south western guys to get together for an evening? Keep an eye on the 'What's On?' forum for more.

The website's still showing last year's rally, but this promises to be a good action event, with static displays and a club stand again this year; for more details, call Drew.

DSG area meet for the north west, normally with a club stand and a good mix of HCs and Chevettes. Evrything from a Porsche to a Mini on display, Massive 2 day autojumble with excellent range of over 150 trade stalls, over 1500 cars from 60 clubs on display, car mart. 9am until 5pm. Admission; Adults £6 children FREE; Entry into park and parking £4.50 per car. Exhibitors enter free.

Centenary revival meeting at the famous Kop Hill Hillclimb (a public road) just outside Princes Risborough which is on the A4010 halfway between High Wycombe and Aylesbury. This hillclimb was used from 1910-1925 by Raymond Mays, Malcolm Campbell, Henry Segrave and others. Over 300 vintage and veteran cars and bikes will be doing demonstration runs up the hill; the club will be there with perhaps a few club cars entered for runs.

Great event with a club stand close to stages, service areas and trade stands and display areas, this is becoming increasingly popular with the Southern guys and definitely worth a look if your car's still taxed this late in the year.
